After a long season of winter snow that often creeps into spring, Boston finally starts to warm up in June. We at USA Guided Bus Tours, home to the #1 experience in the nation as rated by TripAdvisor, are as grateful as any Beantown resident to put away those winter coats and enjoy the outdoors!
We want you to do so, too, which is why our full-day “Historic Discovery” and half-day “Preview Boston” guided bus tours take you through the most iconic sights in and around Boston. Once our expert tour guides have made history fun in Lexington and Concord, Cambridge and Beacon Hill, you’ll have plenty of time to fit in Boston’s unique summer events—no matter short or long your vacation!
Both our full- and half-day tours visit Cambridge, Massachusetts, home to elite institutions like Harvard and MIT. You’ll walk through Harvard Yard and learn about the grandiose history of America’s oldest university.
There’s plenty more to Cambridge than its higher education, however. If you’re in Boston in June, for instance, consider heading to the Cambridge River Arts Festival to experience a more light-hearted and loose side of the tiny city. From jazz and rock to theater and interactive arts, there’s something for everyone at this beloved event as it celebrates its 40th year.
Coincidentally, another Boston cultural institution is celebrating its 40th year nearby: the Dragon Boat Festival. On Sunday, June 9th, come down to the banks of the Charles River to watch live musical performances and martial arts demonstrations that celebrate Boston’s sizable Asian-American population. The festival, of course, culminates in the races of the dragon boats—so cheer on your favorite team and marvel in the beautiful colors!
More traditional sports are also prime viewing in June, starting with the Boston Bruins’s third appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals this decade. Watch them take on the St. Louis Blues on June 2nd and 4th at TD Garden in Boston’s North End, the city’s “Little Italy.” True story: I met one of my good friends, Chelsea Station owner Mike Sheridan, after seeing a Bruins game at the Garden. Speaking of, be sure to check out Chelsea Station itself—a delicious restaurant in a former fire station! Tell Mike I sent ya!
If you’re in Boston after the hockey season ends, then why not visit one of the most legendary venues in all of sports? I’m talking, of course, about Fenway Park. You can tour the park even when the Red Sox are away, but why not take in the national pastime in “America’s Most Beloved Ballpark”?
Finally, if you consider eating a sport—and I do!—consider “scooping” up the opportunity for all-you-can eat ice cream at the Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl from June 4th-6th at City Hall Plaza. Each year, the nation’s largest all-you-can-eat ice cream festival serves up cones and cups to over 40,000 participants. Best of all, the money raised goes to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Calories don’t count when they’re going to a good cause, right?
As you can see, there’s plenty to do in Boston in the great outdoors this June. So let us at USA Guided Tours Boston show you Beantown’s iconic landmarks in style and comfort so that you can take advantage of these great local events!
